First Chicago Bank & Trust has elected to participate in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2009, all non-interest bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. (Solely for the purposes of this Program, NOW accounts with interest rates no higher than 0.50% and for which the financial institution commits to maintaining the rate at or below 0.50% through December 31, 2009 are included in the definition of a non-interest bearing transaction account and are therefore covered under this Program. NOW accounts with interest rates above 0.50% are not included in the definition of a non-interest bearing transaction account and are therefore insured up to a maximum of $250,000 through December 31, 2009). Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules.*
* On October 3, 2008, FDIC deposit insurance temporarily increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2009.
